Hello and be most welcome! My name is Robert Cutajar and as an ICT professional I'd like to present to you my services and skills for hire. In my career, I have been through a number of different positions and assignments which gave me the opportunity to experience a spectrum of different technologies and practices. I consider myself a problem solver. Every problem has at least one solution. I approach problems systematically with calmness, work with the team to find the right solution. To me, every problem is a challenge, failure a lesson and success the best reward. I'm always looking forward to learn something new. For my best performance, good relations with team members and direct supervisor are essential. I've observed I always bring a positive and constructive spirit to the team. A servant leader, leading by example, that is what you may excpect from me in every situation.

In GBET, I supported the actual on-line betting systems, including betdaq.com, the high availability mission critical distributed modular in-house developed software. I was responsible for production environment management, troubleshooting, monitoring, reporting, deployment. I have also developed utility and monitoring software. On a weekly rota schedule with the team, I took on 24x7 on-call support shifts.

I helped setting up a digital hub in Tanzania, training volunteers, staff and teachers, coordinating volunteers. Workshop operation optimisation:
* Computer processing improvements, documentation and training
* Debian APT system updates through transparent proxy and Squid caching
* Pocket flash drive PXE install solution

This contract got me working with skilled software developers so I have learned and used advanced design patterns such as IoC or MVC in C#. We employed Entity Framework model first paradigm. Our code was kept in a Subversion repository. I worked remotely most of the time.

Tuning the MS SQL server performance for on-line marketting was one of my priority tasks. As a consequence, I guided my fellow software developers and data analysts to write better performing SQL code from concepts to smallest details and proposed architectural improvements. Another major project was to design and implement a disaster recovery strategy using log shipping.

I became a fulltime software developer again in Apollo. We worked with C#, ASP.NET, WCF, WinForms, MS SQL to create web applications and a medical evidence system. My colleagues have benefited from my past experiences with large and busy software deployments as well as technology insights and skills.

My first tasks in ŠKODA included developing intranet applications in PHP using MySQL as storage. I have also implemented a Single Sign On solution integrated with Active Directory to authenticate users in these applications. From a junior IT specialist besides others supporting desktop users in the small holding organisation I grew into a leader position, taking care of all intranet applications, attendance systems and other supporting databases throughout all holding companies.
